Race tune on a daily driver?

Just last week got the CAI on and tuned the car for the first time (05 GT auto). This car is my daily driver- is it safe to leave the race tune on it all the time? Can anyone think of any reason for me to not want to do that?

I run my bama race tune all year just fine it's a little touchy but I've gotten used to it.
No issues in 3+ years.

I just received my Sct Tuner approximately 3 weeks ago. First let me say, I love it and best mod for the money. I have a 2011 v6 and had A.M. make a 87 street, 91 performance and 91 race tune. Since I have installed the tune I have tried all three. I like the 91 performance the best. For me, im not racing and taking it to the track. With the race rune you will find your rpm's are always up higher which is important if you want to race on street or 1/4 mile track. I just found it annoying when I pulled out my garage and going 15 miles per hour down my development road I was pumping 2,500 rpm's. Not for my style but for others it may be their bag. I highly recommend the performance setting for daily driving and if your not racing. Just my opinion. Hope this helps

Running the93 race tune for over a year now and no problems you will be fine.. on a side note come time for inspection if you have emission laws use the street tune a month beforeI because the race tune blocks certain sensors and you wont be able to pass...

I went to at least 5 places and when I was hooked up to the computer it wouldn't pass it... its impossible unless you get it passed under the table ...im in NY I don't know how it is else where but it was a Bi tch to deal with

Well that's why... I don't think you even need to have the computer hooked up to the car for emissions testing but I dunno what laws are in your area... it wont pass in places like Ny because by blocking the sensors or resetting them which the race tune does the computer hooked up to your car at the shop wont be able to run through a test to check the sensors ... they don't make mils for the s197s or at least not anymore which would work because it actually tricks the pcm on the car rather then blocking it .. trust me I went through he'll for this and called BAMA and AM about it to confirm

1996 and up all have the computer hookups. Mine does get tested through a state computer.

I'm not using the o2 jumper harness. My tuner turns the rear o2s off.

I see your point but im sure that BAMA does not need to block the sensors on a 97 mustang cobra they probably write a program to trick it because its easier to do so... I was told that it is difficult to trick s197s pcm so they stop the check engine light by resetting those sensors ..

Maybe. I didn't use bama. I just turned the sensors off with the setting built into the tuner. Maybe Texas is lest strict on emissions
