Steve: I think you're really onto something there, as it does seem that those with non-polished versions have experienced very little, or no drone at all. Whereas those with 304 polished versions, have experienced significant drone.

Perhaps the material, does indeed make a difference.

Also, make sure you have the hangers in right. There are several ways that they will fit to the body, and switching them around will make a big difference as to where the tip ends up.
I wonder if the wire loom/hanger locations, are different on the non-polished Violators than the 304 polished versions. From looking at the pics, the wire looms seem to be mounted lower on the non-polished mufflers, than the 304 SS polished ones.

I've had my violators for about 18 months - unpolished, and never had any drone issues. I have the Ford Racing X-pipe but still stock cats. With 4.10's, and alot of highway driving, I'm usually in the 2400-2700 RPM range anyway....so the dreaded 1500-1800 range isn't someplace I spend alot of time. Nonetheless, no drone issues. Mine didn't line up just right initially either, but I got is after some trial and error.
