its up in the air just like sct vs diablo

i went with vortech due to their customer service etc, and look at the racers

also heard seal problems with some ati blowers, didnt hear anything bad about vortech

vortech and paxton are one in the same now

one advantage/disadvantage of both is the way they get thier oil

vortech gotta put fitting in pan, ati is self contained, both have advantages/disadvanges of this lubrication/cooling method

it all boils down to personal preference, either unit will produce more power than the engine will handle

Never owned a Procharger and you dont see as many of them but it doesnt make it a bad product. It might be all marketing.

I have had a vortech and liked their customer service and had good luck with the supercharger. The kit was great, very complete and easy to install (on a 2 valve).

Well I'll just say this I've owned several Vortech superchargers with no problems. I even spun the heck out of a A trim back in the day and it never failed (although I was well above the rpm limit). I've owned one Procharger and it failed (locked up without warning and yes it had oil) within 1000 miles. I got horrible service and the d--n thing always leaked oil. So for me Vortech period. I'm sure there are a ton of satisfied Procharger owners out there, but this is my experience and opinion.

Thanks Mike

Another vote here for Vortech. Customer service is awesome. The installations manuals are very well written. I like how the blower kit can grow with you. For example out of the box the power is more than enough for the street, but if you modify the car down the road, you just need to put on a smaller pulley and make more boost, and if that's still not enough you can use their upgrade/exchange program to get a new head unit.

BTW Sutton High Performance just ran a 10.48 @ almost 130 with their Vortech powered 05 3V 4.6L.

Sounds like the vortech is becoming a winner. Plus I found it for a 100bucks cheaper.

Between the two, I would go with the Vortech....

I really think ( do not know ) that the new Saleen twin screw charger in the way to go and you do not have tubes running all over the engine...

The saleen does look good, 100 hp gain with only 5psi. Sounds good to me, not a lot of added stress on engine. (Induction noob, correct if needed) Would it be possible to increase the boost on the saleen, smaller pulley maybe?

I'm getting the same deal with Procharger. Ordered mine Feb 14th with Mar 1 ship date. Then they kept pushing it back week by week. They're supposed to be shipping it now, I just have to wait my turn. I've never heard anything but good things about them and their customer service thus far has been average. I'm going to stick it out with them and eagerly await the UPS delivery guy.

I just got home from watching a dyno pull right after a Procharger install. The first pull was at 7psi and running a little too much fuel. Results, 409hp at the wheels. They were going to tweak it and do a couple more pulls but I had to go. Not too shabby of an increase.

Like I said, 7psi and rich on fuel. They are thinking 430-440 when they get it down.

Do you know if they were using the standard tune that comes with it or writing their own?
