Predator users, I need your help ASAP!!
Hey guys, I need your help. I noticed on Diablosport's website there was an updated firmware version (r38) so I downloaded it and installed it on my tuner. What I forgot to do was return my vehicle back to stock before I updated. Now when I go to install, say my 93 Torq tune, my tuner reads, "backup in tool does not match vehicle". Is there anyway I can tune the car back to stock without frigin' up my car's computer??? I have my backup file stored on my computer so could I just load that back into my Predator and load it in my car?? Your advice is severely needed. Thanks.
Yep,
Somd guy did the same thing and here was their reply
"Give us a call here at 561.908.0040 with the tool powered up."

Thanks for the replies guys. I gambled and returned the tuner back to r37 and everything is good. I almost pooped my pants when I read that message on my tuner though. I'm not gonna push my bad luck. Seems like everything I tamper with always ends up something bad happening. I hate my karma...lol.
Same thing happened tonight. I bought a used predator that was turned back to stock. I uploaded the latest revision, tried to dowload a tune and got the message "back up tool does not match vehicle" supposedly the issue can be resolved over the phone.
I,m pretty sure you can resolve this over the phone call and talk to Phil at Diablosport he'll help ya. His number is listed above 1-561-908-0040. The latest software for these tuners is 8r38v if your tuner already has this version on it there is no need to update, but make sure if you do update it to return car to stock and unlock tuner before doing the revision. Diablosport has great tech guys they will get it fixed for ya, don't worry about it!!
I found out my tuner is still locked to the previous owners car. He set it to factory HP instead of original backup. The good news is that he is local and lives less than 10 miles away. Lesson learned, never buy a used tuner unless the seller is local.
