Thumbs down Pypes OR-H Pipe AND Mid-Muffler System

Not a fan. It actually sounds decent with the window rolled down and head out the window, but inside the car is an embarrassment. Loud, droning, and interior rattling. It makes you want to stay OFF the throttle, which is the first time I felt this way about this car.

I'm going to put my stock H-pipe back on and see if that improves things. :fingerscrossed:

My .02 for those who care.

I'm betting it will make a huge difference with the stock H on there. Those cats seem to really quiet things down, and really change the tone of the exhaust.

I have heard the mid muffs don't really get along with offroad pipes. Mine sound great with the prochamber and cats though. I have never really been a fan of the sound of offroad pipes with our cars (ran them for about 6 months)...sounds messy. Throw some highflow cats on with that mid-mufler system and it will sound great.

WHAT? Could you speak up- I can't hear you!

LOL I could only imagine how loud it is inside. I've heard the setup from the outside and it is LOUD.

Another thing I noticed about the mid mufflers is as they break in they get louder and the drone fades...

John,
Don't give up on the MM setup just yet,see what you think with the factory H & cats. I had 0 drone with it on mine with the factory H & cats. Actually liked the sound & tone with that setup. Was almost perfect IMO.
After the L/T's it was quite a change, I didn't like it anymore, way TOO loud, sounded like a cross between a Harly & a Nascar. The cats make a big difference.
Guess you got the hangers figured out?

My current setup with the L/T's, O/R H & GTA's is decent, but I liked the sound better with the MM & factory manifolds,H & cats.

These 3V motors just aren't going to give us the same sound as the cammers did,I've just learned to accept that fact.

Yeah, I'm not giving up. I'm going to put the factory H back on and see how she sounds, although I will miss the sweet smell of off-road exhaust. I've seen enough exhaust posts to know that no one system fits everyone, there is no 'perfect' setup, and have seen many people invest lots of cheese swapping from one exhaust to another trying to find that 'classic' sound.
Funny you mention 'Harley and NASCAR' - I've got a Harley, and with the 2into1 exhaust, it does sound like a racecar . I love it on the bike, although it doesn't make me friends w/ my neighbors.

And yes, I got the hangers figured out. Like I said in the PM, I was lowering the car, putting in a shifter, installing sequentials, and the new exhaust all at the same time. NO problems whatsoever until my buddy comes over and starts talking to me while I'm on my back underneath the car. I don't know if I was laying the wrong way or what, but I ended up putting all the hangers on backwards. If he was helping out w/ a wrench instead of his mouth I might not have screwed up. When I saw your pics I figured it out right away :bowsheadinshame: I've got a little aligning to do on the tips still, but I'm going to wait until I put the factory H back on before I bring out the jackstands again. Thanks again for your help.

Can't go anywhere if you drop all your gas money on exhaust. That would take care of the drone.

Seriously I have heard the Corsa's and they do sound good. Do they sound $600+ good? I don't think so but opinions are like noses and sometimes they get in peoples business.

Did you ever try them with highflow cats or just offroad and stock cats?

I had the PMMS with an O/R H and thought it sounded freaking awesome. It was wayyyy too loud for an every day driver though, so I put my stock H on it. I still love the sound of the system, but I could turn up the volume a notch. I might go with a prochamber or a catted x and see how that works out, unless I just decide to do LT's with a catted midpipe.

Thats what I'm trying to do, turn it up a notch. I'm thinking about the bassani catted x to replace my prochamber.
