Powersteering fluid resevior relocation?

I started getting to the meat of my Nitrous Express install and last night was going to install the plate and fuel tap and fuel pressure gauge. However my steeda intake tube touches the powersteering bottle, so for me to stick a 1 inch thick plate behind the TB would push the intake tube into the ps bottle even more...

On some supercharger kits, paxton and vortec, there is a relocation bracket, lines and coupler to relocated the bottle to the other side of the car. I was considering this.... but don't know if anyone else has done this?

Has anyone moved theirs to make room?

Where did you put the resevoir bottle?

Thumbs up

I made my own relocation bracket so I could use the GT500 intercooler degas tank in place of the P/S reservoir. Here is a pic showing the new location and the Roushcharger, etc. It turned out great.

I guess it doesnt matter where the bottle goes as long as you fill it back up with fluid...

Thats a clean move too.. i like the bracket.

Did you get the metal for the bracket at home depot, osh, or some other place?

I got it from a company called Trident here in Plano. I made it out of T6 aluminum that is about 1/16" thick. I may get some mild steel at some point and make a duplicate as this one has some minor flex. I had it powdercoated black to match the Ford bracket on the opposite side. I also shaped my bracket similar to that one so it would resemble a Ford part. Just be sure to use hose suitable for P/S fluid.

I did the same thing Randy did, except I was too lazy to make a bracket so I just bolted the reservoir to the shock tower.

You would think that since I was nice enough to go pick up the hose that Randy used in his relocation that he would be nice enough to make me a bracket

hahahahahha

Maybe he will be kind enough to post a 1-1 scale drawing/diagram/pattern so we could make an identicle bracket since his is soooo perty...

Lol, maybe for X-mas. I actually thought of making a kit until Ford decided to change the shock tower bracket on the '07-up Mustangs to acommodate the wider Shelby 5.4 engine, rendering my design useless on those cars.

I could probably post the dimensions later tonight if you guys are really interested. At least you know it will bolt straight to the strut tower in case you're as lazy as hawgman.

Here are the measurements for the bracket I made. The grid represents 1/8" and the bracket measures 4 1/8" x 2 1/8" and the radius dimensions can also be figured out by using the grid. The dashed line represents where the otherwise flat bracket needs a slight bend for the P/S reservoir to sit level. I hope this helps you out. Have fun and post pics when you're done.

A steel bracket might flex even more. T6 aluminum is generally more rigid than steel.

That's interesting. Maybe I will just leave it be. I wish I would have made it from a slightly thicker piece, like ~3/32" instead of ~1/16".

well I wonder do the canton ps reservoirs etc. make any additional room for you. If it is a different shape etc. it may work. Not sure just thought I would see if you thought about replacing the tank itself. good luck

i've tried home depot, osh, kragen, autozone and pep boys...

i have a 5/8" and 1/2" from home depot.. wonder if the 5/8" will be close enough to work.
