I am so glad that someone has already pointed out the reaction time thing...so many people think that reaction time has something to do w/ how fast their car is?????????

Just curious to know how many 05's have been to the track so far.
What did you run?
Stock or not?
13.6 here at 101 - Flowmaster Mufflers

Is this in 1/8 of a mile?? Were you supershifting your gears? How fast do you think my 6cyl would go? I heard they go 14.0 with a good driver? I think that my 6cyl would do better cause it has a lighter engine than the new G.T. motors...

a v6 will never beat a v8 unless it's no longer N/A. And what exactly is supershifting? do you mean powershifting? and a 13.6 in the 1/8 mile would make the mustang into the range of a semi. Even stock semis I am sure post better 1/4 mile times then that. That is assuming a 13.6 in the eighth, double time for 27.2 in the quarter mile.

vegas, thats a great run for the first time at the track, you'll definetely get faster w/ practice.......
uh, yeah WBStang, I was powershifting, not supershifting....sounds like something you would do in the batmobile.
1/4 mile.

I finally got ours to the track this weekend. We go to Red River Raceway just north of Shreveport, LA.
Out of three passes, best was a 13.88 @ 102.55 with a 2.14 60'.
The car is totally stock, I didn't even check the air pressure in the tires!

I agree with everyone else, this car has a lot of wheel hop, a crazy amount. I have a sub-11 second '90 Mustang that isn't as hard to get out of the hole as this one. I'm sure there is some 13.50's in the future with me learning the car a little better. The MPH is good for it.

Has anyone changed the lower control arms to help the wheel hop out?

Bobby

I went with the Steeda and I've heard others using BMR fabrication. I know the Steeda totally removes the hop 100%. I'm pretty sure the BMR's will do the same. You need to ask The Boss Hog.

Which Steeda control arms did you go with? I was just looking at them on there site. I was thinking about maybe getting the adjustable ones.

So, they totally removed the wheel hop 100%? That is awsome! Because mine would get to shaking so bad before I could get out of it, I thought the rear end was going to come out!

Thanks, and that is some awsome times that you have there 169.

Yes, wheel hop is going to eventually break something. To answer your question, I bought the Billet ones. They are set at factory length. I posted a question sometime ago. Why on earth is there lower control arms that are adjustable for this particular car when the factory lengthed ones cure it?

I see your point on the billet ones, I was just thinking about future mods later on down the road. I may end up just going with the billet ones.
Have raised any questions with your local dealership about your warranty after installing your SCT tune?
I'm hearing that my loacal dealership will not warranty anyone that has done this, but I have not asked them myself yet. I did ask another one when I was out of town on business, and the service was totally cool and said that he didn't care what I did to the car and he would warranty it! Go figure!

I didn't do any of my mods worrying about warranty-to be honest. My take is that if I'm worried about the warranty, I shouldn't be doing the mods. I gotten to know the service manager and some of the mechanics and parts guys. Actually, they meet up with me at the track occassionally. Don't know if it's a good thing, but....If I rip out my rearend at the track, by all means, I don't expect to warranty it. I'm pretty realistic and fair. Yes, they all know what my mods are and are pretty cool about it.

That shows how much you guys know. Supershifting is when you shift the gears really fast without letting off the gas. No wonder you guys are running so slow.

supershifting That's like super throttle, or super burnout. My GT has a super engine. It's how Clark Kent shifts

So Maul, what exactly is powershifting again?

Hey the guy is serious about his v6 beating a GT on the track because it weighs less. Let's just let him make up his own terms without getting on him to much. It's obvious he is off in his own little world.

I think that's the only way his V6 could get a GT at the track is by method of supershifting. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
