Pondering FRPP Upgrade

Hey all. I did a couple searches on FRPP and I just wanted to throw a fresh thread regarding my 2008 GT as I've seen results regarding the 07's but just playing it safe.. I'm reading mixed reviews on the FRPP Power Pack. I'm trying to do what I can without voiding my warranty and figured maybe this was a way to go. I'm also reading about Steeda Power Packs with the tunes as well being a better option?

I'm pretty new to upgrading a stock ride so please, be gentle!

All dealers are different on how they do business. Obviously they have Ford authorized modifications that allow you to use your existing warranty. If you have a 3 year, then the car is going to last either way. If you went extended, then your best bet is to stay in the family of Ford products.

That said, Ford products are not the most bang for the buck. Obviously Ford works with companies in a cooperative share to increase the aftermarket options. Companies like Steeda are tied in heavily with Ford and actually some of the Ford Racing parts are supplied by outside companies.

Ultimately I don't drive your car, so I don't know how long it will last. Personally I pamper my vehicle and I occassionally push the car within the limits. I have minor modifications to get the power I do have to the ground and I find that if you only have 300 HP and it gets to the ground, you're doing better than most. If you have to have 500 HP and make the thing stick like glue and pull the front end up, then you shouldn't worry about warranty.

I find that doing light mods for the first few years is a good balance to learning your vehicle and appreciating the limitations. Once you have it in you to say "F-it" and rip the thing apart, then you've already answered your own question.

Personally I would go with the steeda setup. The frpp one is set "too" safe with the tune and the tuner that is supplied is a useless piece of crap. A steeda setup with a sct tuner would give you a lot more bang for your buck and user adjustability if you ask for a open ended tune. (IE ability to adjust the rev limiter, spark, air/fuel, gear ratio, wheel size, etc)

I agree. It's easy to install and there many types of tunes available. The SCT is nice to have as well; give lots of adjustability and reads trouble codes.

The axle backs that come with the kit are nice, but there's a lot of other mufflers available from different manufacturers. Go to the exhaust thread and listen to them, then buy what you like, or skip them all together and save some money as well.

It looks a little too invasive and it's expensive. You have to send them your ECU and 399.00 for the tune. Plus, it's not all adaptive. There are different tunes for N/A and supercharged cars and I don't believe it works on automatics either. There's another thread out there on it.

Well if you install the FRPP power pack and don't have the dealer install it .... you can still have warranty grief . If your really worried about your warranty find a Ford dealer that sells FRPP products and does extensive mods on vehicles themselves! the dealer I have that takes care of my warranty issues could care less about the mods I've done !
