PJ Saleen Classic Watts link suspension now available

We need more people who have the kits so we can compare. The Saleen costs a lot more but is it really better than the Lakewood and the Fays kits? The Saleen Kit is cooler looking but who is going to be staring at the underside of you car?

I read on another post that the "U" clamp that the Fays kits uses to attach to the axle may damage the housing and also put an extra load on the wheel bearings. I am concerned with that plus I like the way the PJ Saleen kit looks better even though I don't like the price.

love the PJ and suspension but i am still worryed about that bolt being in the center of the cover, if i go crazy and snap the bolt i have to replace the cover, with the fays2 or lakewood kit i just have to replace the bolt not the cover which could set me back $290+ since it does not look like a common product to make

No it does not make your car an independant suspension or simulate it. What it does is eliminates the undesirable movment of the axle in an arc. The panahrd rod does a good job about eliminating lateral movement but not movement about the arc centered at the axel right at the drive shaft. This comes in to play when you are in a sharp turn or going over an uneven surface. In a sharp turn the axle will twist about an arc and one wheel will start to lift. As it does you get torque steer from one wheel getting more traction than the other. This also happens when you are driving accross an uneven surface. Just try accelerating while crossing a railroad track and you will feel it. A watts linkage eliminates these problems and both wheels are in contact with the ground evenly.

From what I have read you won't even notice it is there until you either go over some uneven surfaces or do some spirited driving. I really don't think that it will make your daily driving experience any better or worse but it will make your car a much better street car. I am not going to do any SCCA racing or grand tourismo type stuff with my car but I do want to eliminate the deflection when I accelerate and get quicker starts and I want to be able to have more fun on curvy roads plus there is a little extra "cool" factor when you go to car shows.
