Got my Gtech RR today. Got it installed and ran through all the parameters....easy if you read the owners manual. Only thing left to do is calibrate the rpms. Weather is not cooperating today. We'll see how it is tomorrow.

maddtrapper,
What did you enter for the redline of the vehicle?

redline is 6000. As for shift points, the best way to get those is to have a dyno and find out what rpm has your peak horse power. I'm setting my shift points at 5300 rpms until I get a dyno.

I set my redline to 6800rpm because that is what my rev limiter is set at with my SCT tune. I performed the rpm calculation and it is the same as on my tach, very accurate.

After 3 quick runs my best 0-60 is 4.811s. All 3 runs I lost traction on my launch so after some practice I should get a little better. Didn't try the 1/8 or 1/4 mile yet, have to find a suitable road.

Has anyone been able to get an accurate HP or torque reading. On my 4.811 run it said I had only 206.6 HP and 211.1 torque. Maybe the vehicle weight I entered (3575lbs) was wrong? Or is there anything else I need to do? Any help would be great!

The HP readings will be way off. Your car will lurch on hard shifting... this is due to all sorts of things including driveline windup, but also dive/squat that has a little bit of angular change in the car. The lurches give a short duration osciliation fore-aft plus a little up down, and it throws off the reading. Just like YOU feel the snap of a power shift, the GTech or GTimer feels it too. So the peak numbers are way off.

On a hard shift you will see a spike in the power curve. That erroneous spike counts towards your "MAXHP" number the computer spits, out, but the real numbers are closer to what you see mid-gear as you pull through your power peak. See below for an example of two runs.

Yes, those are real runs in the 05. It was a cold dry day, the car was running really well.
===edited later===
Actually, those runs were two different days. The fast one was the cold day.

By the way, I don't trust the trap speed on the GTimer exactly, but I'll try to use it at a track and see what the correction factor is. I am using standard factory rollout figures in the GTimer

The weight of your car should be in the "ball park." I had mine weighed at Sap Bros Truck stop. It weighed 3480lbs with a half a tank of gas. Is your car all stock? I've heard the hp will be inaccurate, but didn't think it would be that far off. From what I've read so far, a stock GT should be getting around 260 horses out of the rear wheels. My next purchase will be 4.10 gears and sticky tires. Micky Thompson ET if they make that tire for the 17 in rims. I will probably go for different rims when I'm ready to buy the tires.
