performance chip ?

I was on ebay earlier and noticed someone on there trying to sell what he is calling a performance chip worth 25 hp for $ 6.00. I think he is saying that it tricks the car into thinking the air outside is colder than it really is. Have any of you guy's ever heard of this before ? Sounds like a rip off to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think this might be the resistor mod that is cheap as hel, messes up your MAF, and does nothing for the car. The car might think the air is colder but it is a proven fact that if the air itself is not denser then there is no performance gains from it, making the computer think the air is denser does not get the performance that true dense air will bring

I'm with Ira here. If what that dude is selling is real, then I could tell you the O'douls you're drinking is Miller Lite and you would therefore proceed to get very drunk.

I had a guy come in and ask me to install one of these "performance chips" on his ****in Alero. They're universal. I've seen them claim anywhere from 3RWHP - 38RWHP. Somebody told me they don't work. Then they tried to tell me wrestling isn't fake and Santa Claus is a scam!

Seriously, though... go with an SCT custom tune. You won't regret it.
