Question P0340 code

Hey Guys,

I have a issue, When ever I turn on my Stereo system and the sub hit the car surges a tiny bit. It's really weired for a while I thought it was the road or something. I would turn down the stereo and its fine but as asoon as the Sub hits it happens. I got a light so I read it, Turned out to be P0340 code. I took out the C&L and tune to be in the safe side for warranty. Driving today after a 4 days of having the code it turns off, Since I have been with my girl for the weekend and stereo low. Have guys ever seen this? It's really weired

Well,
I had my battery die yesterday after sitting in the garage for a week and a half(first time failure). Went looking on some of the other forum's and found out a few things. Namely that the stock batteries arn't very good and may last only 2 1/2 to three years before they expire. But in your case there is a TSB 06-19-12 that states that a bad Alternator can be the source of DTC codes P0340 along with P0344.
Here is the PDF file. Hope this helps.

don't clear the code

If it's under warranty still, bring it in. It's the alternator or battery or both.

Thanks I will show them the TSB. Is there a memory of the old light since it turned off. I've had the car for almost 2 years so that might be it. Thanks Guys!

You will probably have to wait for the light to reappear since you cleared it. I do not believe there is a memory of the light.
