Opinions on tuners for a noob
I am a super noob. I'm trying to learn about the different tuners that are out there. So I figured this would be a great place to ask your opinions on different tuners and the cost-bennifit to the higher priced units. I am definitely getting a cold-air intake. But, my first mod (besides the K&N drop in filter i have) will be a tuner. So what do you guys think? Who has what tuner? Let me know.

ok I guess my question is what is a good tuner tool? Like is the diablo any good or can I go with a lower price one? Will a tuners "tunes" work with any device? And I am in antioch IL about 1hr outside of Chicago. I see alot of peeps use the SCT tuner. And will a tune help me make the most of my drop in filter if I can't get a cold air right away?

AmericanMuscle tunes are awesome, lots of low-end grunt and strong all the way to red line. Brenspeed has weaker low-end but slightly more power at the top according to my non-calibrated butt-dyno.
All the tuners are a bit different, the good thing is that you are not tied to the tuner you purchase your SCT programmer from, you can always try different tunes later, they are not expensive.

I placed my order last night for a JLT CAI and SCT tuner from AM, too bad the weather sucks too much to get any enjoyment out of it for awhile.

Thanks for hitting me up ARBO.. Not interested right now. I think the best bang for the buck right now is the tuner. But I still would like to know do the tunes work for all tuning devices? Like if I get a Predator can I use a Bamma tune? I'm trying to find a tuner for under 300.00? Not an easy task.

No, a used one would be great. Same thing but cheaper!
Antioch, IL! Very cool, I go to church in Antioch, Northbridge that meets in the high school.
I am just down south in Volo, I work at Victor Ford so if you need anything please come down and see me!
