Stick with a 20 weight oil in the 4.6 3 valve engine. Either a 0w or 5w20. The first number is always the cold weight of the oil.

What's done to the car? Supercharged? Turbocharged? N/A? I'm running the Amsoil 0w30 in my car.

Yes... 5W-20 or 5W-30 will work just fine in our cars. Stay away from 10W-30. Certain functions of our varible cam timing is controlled by the weight of the oil you run. The first number is the cold weight of the oil and the second is the amount of additives that have been added so the oil protects at a higher weight value if that makes any sense.

I agree with everything in Tom's post, aside from his signature saying black gives way to blue.

Just replace the oil and the filter, nothing else. Reuse the plug. Just make sure when you take off the old filter the rubber ring gasket comes with the filter and is not still stuck on the engine.
