Rick you problem isn't with the Anti theft from ford, it is with the aftermarket system put on by the dealer. This is the reason your double honked since you've had it, By the way everyone i can verify that it double honks. When you took out your flash and re-installed it you may have changed something tied in to that aftermarket system. Go back to the dealer and talk to the alarm company that does the installs on the alarms, (most alarm companies have on ground techs as part of the service contract so the alarms aren't really touched by ford employees). The alarm your talking about should honk 3-4 times if something is left ajar, check the paperwork on the alarm, (if you haven't seen it check the cars paperwork. It probably won't affect anything farther than that, so as long as it still locks and unlocks you fine. But it sounds like the aftermarket alarm you have is no longer functioning and it is reverting back the the ford active anti theft system. So until you get it fixed you may be wasting part of you hard earned money. Might not be all bad though, those after market systems can be a major PITA.
