oil

I just bought mobil 1 for my first oil change since i got my car, however my local parts store does nto have mobil 1 oil filters. Would it be ok to use a FRAM filter. The parts guy also said that purolator oil filters are the best and ordered me one. Any suggestions on which one i should go for?

I personally don't like FRAM. I've used PureONE filters for a long time on my cars. I've read a lot of people reccomend sticking with the motorcraft. They can be purchased at wal-mart.

I am very picky about my oil, and I would stick with the Motorcraft. You can't beat it for the money, and the quality. It has all the good features you need, and it consistently turns in good Used Oil Analysis results from people who have tested their used motor oil.

Fram filters are awful. They have paper end caps that deteriorate and only half the vanes of the motorcraft filter. We cut open a bunch of oil filters and and the Motorcraft one was definitely superior.

Not knocking NAPA but I'd use a NAPA filter over Fram.

Find a dealer that handles FRRP gear. They have them in stock. I paid $7.24 for mine (doesn't include the tax)

Big risk for not buying the best filter in the first place.

Are there any advantages to the FRPP filter compared to the standard Motorcraft filter that's less than $4?

Filter

NO FRAM!

I swear by Motorcraft, Purolator Pure One, K&N or Bosch. Just no Fram.

Better flow rate! Thats why Ford ads this filter to their power packs! but in saying that you will probably loose some filtration value! I use the Ford Racing filter I'm on my second one They are a very high quality....

I don't know ! Ford could conceivably have more than one manufacture! as long as the filter and or part is manufactured to fords prescribed tolerances thats all that matters ! As with any Ford OEM parts I think you will be hard pressed to find that on the part or packaging! I'm sure if you want to spend the time researching who manufactures Fords oil filters the information is available! But thats a little to **** for me, for a seven dollar oil filter...
