You don't have to leave. You have made your point abundantly clear to all of us. You have the right to your opinion and the right to spend your hard earned money anyway you want. I made my decision and am just trying to post the facts about 2 OBX header installs that I have been part of. I have tried to post the good and bad about my experience so others here can form their own opinion. I have not tried to shove my choice down anyone thoat..including yours. But this is my thread that you keep injecting your opinion into. You have made your point. When you install your longtube header of your choice than you can start your own thread and post what you will. You are still welcome here but I would ask that you contain your opinion of where my headers came from. I already knew that information.

Thanks Scott... very eager to get those installed! Your new setup sounds fantastic. What other mod is prohibiting you from driving her?
Great write-up Scott
Will be hard to add much to what you've already covered.
Just a few comments of my own; again I agree it's a great bargin, time will tell if it holds as long as the other offerings.I'll also report any issues down the road if I have any.
Fitting was good, but not perfect.I've read about many issues with the steering shaft clearance & it's NOT just this brand.Shifting my engine over seems to have taken care of mine, other option it to slightly flatten the one primary like we did on Scott's car.
Prothene mounts will also keep the engine from flexing as much as with the stock mounts that I still have. Just be aware that if you have a plenum cover or strut tower brace, you may have clearance issue there.Scott's engine does sit slightly higher,1/2" or so.
Overall I'm quite happy with my set-up.I'll have some #'s this spring when I go to Brenspeeds dyno day.
The verts have some additional frame supports that the coupes don't have, makes it a bit more difficult of fitting the headers up,as there is a brace at the rear of the K member. The manual bellhousing is shaped differently,I had one area that was tight near the starter on mine, that was not the case on the autos, plenty of clearance there. Scott made some great spacers we used to space out the oil dipstick tube upper attaching bolt, as with the headers the tube has to go over the header flange. Stock it goes in between the factory manifold & lies close to the engine block.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand... The system sounds great! I wonder how the O/R H sounds versus the resonator set-up. I imagine a little deeper/rough. In a perfect world I'd like to order these by the end of this month!
i honestly am probably one of the most patriotic guys on this forum, as well as many others....
i have no issue buying these headers, i havent yet, but will if i come up with the cash..
honestly if no one else can produce a header of this quality at this price, than obx deserves the cash more.
i buy american whenever i can, but not when its a 200 dollar or more expense to myself for no reason.
over a grand for a pair of tubes is a joke. you wont ever see me paying that. ill wait 10 years till the market slows first!!!

Here is a sound clip I took today. I purposely took it in my garage so that it could be compared to my last exhaust setup. The first vid is with the stock manifolds, offroad Mac Prochamber, Borla pipes, and GTA mufflers.

Now the next vid is the OBX longtubes, OBX H-pipe with resonators,Borla pipes and GTA mufflers.

Tell me what you guys hear. I think the Prochamber has a mellowing effect about it. The OBX H-pipe has a little more volume and maybe harshness to it. So what I would like to do someday is build a Prochamber style box on the extra H-pipe you get with the OBX system. This modding stuff has no limits does it?

How about when the average day time temperature around here is 80 degrees or above.
Sounds great Scott. I like the way both clips sound, but the 2nd one, sounds meaner IMO.
Great write up also. Looking fwd to getting your driving impressions. Where do you figure you are at for crank and rwhp?
And what mod is holding you back. cmon, dont be shy.

Hey Colby,
No point is me guessing HP. I will find out for sure on Feb. 15th when Brespeed installs my cams and does a final dyno tune.
