I spoke to somebody @ Paul's earlier today and a release date has been set for next week for the "special gapping tool" specific to the 3v plug design. I seriously cant wait to get this so I can gap my plugs down to .032 for my nitrous usage.

Maybe I could get away with the 150 jets then or maybe not.

Zex 3V plugs... I'll wait on someone else with more experience with spark tech under their belt.

Doesn't hurt my feelings but just curious what you have found to be an inadequacy with Zex or their products? I have owned NOS, Nitrous Works, Nitrous Pro Flow, and Zex systems without any trouble from any of them. Zex definitely lacks in their ability to deliver a LOT of NO2 for race cars but to me seems perfectly practical and safe for a street car. I know your opinion is biased becuase of your brand of NO2 but I am interested what you have seen/heard/experienced.

Actually, I have researched a lot over the years over what company to finally go with when I have a vehicle and NX came out the winner. Racers far and wide say that there is no better for one. Their products do seem rather childish, the mass of purple is not eye appealing. Their kits dont make as much power as the competition... I can go on and on but these are the big reasons.

I agree with you, the purple is gross. The ability to go racing is limited by their bottle valve size/line size/ and flow rates of their solenoids. BUT, for anyone looking to boost performance safely with little or no NO2 experience I don't think they could be beat, at least with the 05 Mustang kit. I could have ran my own lines and placed a fogger injector in the intake just the same and used my large solenoids from my other kits but I wasn't sure how this engine would handle it, especially with the tuning issues.

BTW, I haven't reached the limitations of this Zex kit yet. I have ran 11.90' to 12.20's with just the 75hp settings, I am sure there could be more in it with up to 125. What is your best ET?

My best ET to date is 12.98 @ 97. Im serious too! My previous best was a 12.9 @ 113 with just the NX kit with 100shot jets, dyno proven 100hp too, and the jlt intake as my performance mods. Stock tires, wheels, gears, Eibach Sportlines.

Once I returned to the track with the addition of the TB spacer, my torque numbers had improved and locked my converter at 4000 rpm when it shifter to 4th. It was interesting to feel the power go limp but with my 3 mods and by comparing my past time slips, my setup is good for a 12.65 @ 115 or so.

Once I gap down the stock plugs, add the IMRC Delete Plates, Headers with no Cats, 4.10 gears, MT ET streets, BMR LCA relocation brackets and one awesome custom tune.... I'll be hunting for those 11s.

Autolite.com has the colder HT0 plugs you'll need to go above the 100 HP shot. LINK

$10.20 each.
Thanks for the link, I am interested in those plugs for sure but it will most likely be for jetting above 125hp. I have been talking with Ken at Modular Depot and he has helped me with datalogging and observing the total timing as well as commanded A/F ratios. Ken informed me that I could run up to 125hp with the stock pistons and possibly timing retarded 2-3 degrees total from my performance tune and still be OK. I have put the 125 jets in and have been playing around with it on the street, honestly I can't tell by the seat of my pants the difference between the 75 and 125 setup. I hope that there are some more manufacturers that will be allowed to make this plug after the patent is up to help bring down the cost.

It may be hard to understand but I can definitely feel the difference between the nitrous runs for my 2 visits to the track. The cooler temperatures combined with the throttle body spacer definitely improved the hit of the nitrous and both sets of runs were using the 100hp shots. I do toss the switch at the same RPM each time too.

I can only imagine the hardness of the hit of the 150 shot over the 100. I cant wait.

And how do you know that this plug is correct for the 3V application? Not a single plug is even listed for that engine type.

www.vortechsuperchargers.com has had a spark plug gapping tool available since June.
I think it's about $40

Due to the unique design of the OEM Ford 2005 Mustang GT spark plug, no options are available for the consumer who requires a reduced gap for racing or extreme boost applications.

To meet this need, Vortech has created a unique tool specifically designed to quickly and easily modify the OEM spark plug gap to an acceptable level for these special applications.

Part number: TL0286-1.

I hope these times you have posted are on your street tires.because with the MPH you posted you would allready be in the 11,s with traction. With 100 HP extra your Et and MPH are very strange.

Someone should probably call Autolite to confirm that these "HT0" plugs will indeed work for our 3v application before we all go buying them. Im not convinced yet that this is the plug for us so I think Im going to call Autolite in the morning.

All these runs are on the stock street tires with stock gears. I do tend to lose traction a few times as I go down the track. Im curious to see what gears and tires will do to my times as much as the rest of you.
