A few guys here that followed my little mishap in 08 knows, but for those that don't..

A shop in Torrance (no, I won't mention their name) installed my new MMR shortblock, but reinstalled my original intake manifold which happened to harbor all the fragmented pieces of my grenaded piston and rod.

As you can imagine, during the course of a couple weeks, car was running like sh*t and dying out at random. This was due to the fact that debris was slowly falling down into the combustion chambers.

I no longer trusted the shop A and decided to take the car to RET for diagnosis. They found the problem within a few hours, but it was too late, one of the chambers on the drivers side head was toast.

Got a replacement head thanks to ST Motorsports and RET's engine building shop did a complete teardown to make sure all the crap was gone.

So yeah, my motor was originally a MMR built shortblock, but not anymore.

Hey Bill I'd be really interested to know what shop in Torrance did that.

I understand if you don't want to say publicly, but could you shoot me a PM.

I don't want to get hit by a bad shop... that I may have used or use again.

Thanks!
