I picked up my TKO600 today prepped by Walt at ProMotion Powertrain. I had the internals Cryo'ed, Polished, and blueprinted.
I have all the other parts (From JPC RACING) trickling in for the conversion. I am getting a Lakewood SFI Bellhousing, Centerforce clutch/flywheel, alum. driveshaft, remote shifter, crossmember, girdle, McCloud hyd. throwout bearing.

Getting closer!

Were all still stuck here with the factory crap, shifting gears with cavemen (sorry if there are any out there). We need some pics of some parts Dave! Don't tempt us with a thread like this, I kneed to know what I need to buy now.

Sorry for the lack of pics. I've been pretty good about pics so far! I forgot my camera and dropped the tranny off to Bart at Billet Design. He'll be setting up the clutch and installing the tranny. When I get all the parts here, I will take pics and take pics of the tranny when I drop them off at Billet.

I'm using a Swarr/Pro5.0 shifter combo. I have a pic of it being sent to me. I'll post the pic when it shows up.

Somehow I knew that was going to happen, FUNNIEST COMMERCIAL EVER IMO. "I will have the roast duck with the mango salsa." "And I don't have much of an appetite, thanks."

[attachmentid=41327]Here's a pic of the remote shifter by Swarr Auto. This shifter is supported by the tranny solely as opposed to being supported to the body. The shifter can be purchased thru JPC Racing and ProMotion Powertrain.

That's sweet. I wish the stock tranny was like that. The shifter being supported by the body just makes all kinds of noise.

I sheered off one of those bolts some how. I had to drill it out and put a bolt thru it to hold me over.

For drag, wouldn't a beefier 5 spd be better? 6spd's are great, but I always thought they were better suited on Road Race cars.

The TKO 600 is a beefier 5 speed, and that is what David is using. And you are correct, the 6 speed is very strong and good for road racing but too heavy and robs horsepower too much for drag use.

I looked into all types of tranny's and the TKO600 is the most stout for a drag racing application. By the way, I'm in PA and my inlaws have dial up internet...My patience is REAL thin on this. It's just hard going from DSL to dial up. :bang:
