Without knowing if there are other features, just holding four tunes instead of three isn't anything to be concerned about. How many can you use at once anyway? As for me, I have quite a few variations of tunes from Doug @ Bamachips now, and it's super easy to keep the three most relevant ones on the X2. The rest are all safely stored on my PC. I generally keep my street tune on there, plus two track tunes.

This really isn't new. No real difference for the Xcal-2 except it holds 4 tunes. But they are canned tunes installed from SCT. Just like it says on the bottom of the page it supports all the vehicles listed. And as you can see the gains are not as much as getting a 9400 Xcal-2 (custom tuned).
The Xcal2 also has the built in datalogging, I used mine last night.
Here is a good link that explains it better then I

FWIW the on device data logging is slick!

Notice the DOHC 32V V8 (used in Mach 1) isn't support with it.
Wonder why ... :P

Looks like it a little more comparable to the diablosport out of box option, gives you preloaded tunes but more than diablo. Also you can buy direct from sct rather than a reseller like you have to for the standard xcal 2. Looks like a good option for someone who is unsure of a custom tune dealer that they want to go with, but I'm sure as with the diablo everyone would agree a custom tune will probably be more beneficial. Plus im sure the preloaded tunes are only for stock, if you add mods you need a custom tune anyway.

This is so SCT can get into the Summit and JEG's retail market,in my opinion. Also so they can have NON-tuning dealers, like JLT. They offer 4 tunes but truly all they are is 87P, 91P, and 93P tunes along with a Milage or Towing tune for different vehicles.
These are the tunes provided to every SCT dealer with their base package. My tunes varry because I start with this and then work up from there, I wont go into it greatly but I make so many more changes to the base files to both help performance and even in some cases fix some small problems with the value files.
Custom tuning will always be a better idea no matter if you are completely stock or have a host of mods.
THanks, Doug.
