need belt diagram

Ok installed the new speeda pulleys last week. All is well till today. On the way to work I threw the belt. Waiting till its light out and then I'll go out and fix it. Does anybody have the way the belt threads back on the pulleys???? My notes are back home and asking the wife to talk me though it... won't happen.

You could possibly make it home depending on how far you live. Just make sure and turn all accessories off and keep the rpm's low. (more rpm's = more spark = more juice)

My 98 had in on the underside of the hood, or somewhere. The 05+ does not have this diagram somewhere in the engine bay?

Nah, that extra sticker would cost too much!

I want to really thank you for all the replys, this place is great. When it was light enough I looked and saw the belt was broken!!!!!. Well I did just change the pulleys (Steeda). But man try and find a replacement. After 3 Auto stores, I said screw it and went to Ford. $40 and it will be here tomorrow, crap!!!! On the way back to work there is a little local auto store and I stopped for the hell of it. They sent a guy to a warehouse and brought me back a Goodyear Gatorback belt for $30. HOOOWOOO, it's on and working f ine. Now to get her home and clean the engine bay of all the belt pieces and anti-freeze that boil over. Thanks again you guys(and gals) are the best. Still got to look for the reason

Do you recall what the part # was for your Goodyear Gatorback belt? 4061015?

Did you ever find the cause for your belt problem? When I installed my UDP, I did not notice that the alternator bolt was so close to the belt and after a few minutes, it started to tear up the belt. Luckily, I recognized the problem before the belt was totally gone and I was able to get a replacement.

No one had the right belt but they took my belt and matched it up to an identical ford belt of the same size.

To fix the problem I used a dremmel to cut off the alternator belt.

BTW, that link is working fine now, we had a problem with a UPS at work and had to shut down all non-essential servers to conserve power until it was replaced. Sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused.

I guess to finish the story all is well. In the Steeda pulley kit was another bolt to replace the stud that comes really close to the belt and pulley. Well I replace the stud with the bolt and reinstall the Belt. several people have asked for the part number so I found the sleeve it came.

Poly-V Goodyear Gatorback 4061015 6PK2580

Allis great in the Mustang world....wait oh yes that it in tomorrow to fix the dents on the Hood from the Gravel truck...replacing the pass. side side schoop for the 2nd time (loose fit)...and waiting since Dec. 25 for the Suspension parts I ordered from Stangsuspension to arrive.

but hey summer is coming

I tried two different Gatorbacks and found the 1010 was too short, while the 1020 did fit, it was a VERY tight fit.

The factory belt measured 102.375" outside length, while the Gatorback 4061020 measured 102.25" outside length.

I must admit that the belt routing on the 4.6 3V V8 in the GT is impressive. Ford didn't skimp on the idler pulleys, and there's an impressive amount of wrap on the crankshaft pulley.
