It's kind of like JDM is directly tunning your car with someone elses dyno. Good plan and good luck.
Exactly! Thank you

JDM is certainly one of the best with the Saleen SCs right now. There is no doubt about it and their track record (no pun intended) speaks for itself. If I had went the Saleen SC route, I was about 75% sure I would gone through JDM.

As I was researching the various blower options, one downside I could see using JDM is that when you get the XCal2 from them, it will be locked and you can't make any changes to it... even with XtremeTune or other SCT software. If you need any changes whatsoever, you will have to physically send the X2 back to JDM to make the changes (even something simple like a gear swap or tire size change). And they won't e-mail updates tunes to you. JimIII at JDM has said they may change that practice in the future, but as far as I know, that's the way it is done now.

I would also vote for GT350SC, but I'm not sure you'll be able to fit all that on the fender and have room for any rocker stripe at all on the fender itself. Plus it might be hard to find the "C" although I guess you could just get it custom made. My official vote is for GT350S. And I did a little research... the "S" did stand for supercharged. Basically though, no matter what you put there it's going to look good on your car, so you can't go wrong.

To be honest, that was one of the reasons I opted for the KB. I have a semi-local tuner (Adam at ST Motorsports) I want to use. But, his shop is ~100 miles from me. I originally was going to get the Saleen SC from JDM, install it myself, load a "safe" JDM tune, and then drive it to Adam's shop, and have him optimize the tune on his dyno. But, that wouldn't be possible if I got JDM's tune. We still would have had to start from scratch. And since Adam installed the KB on his own car, I'm pretty comfortable with that choice and his ability to tune it.

But, having said that, I know of exactly zero people who have JDM blower tunes that have run into any "fatal" problems with them. Their tunes definitely appear to be conservative enough to ensure a healthy engine. I'm not dissing JDM at all... they can be a great choice for many people, including Justin, who don't have good local tuners available, or just want a good package deal.

How about 281SC on the rocker. Just a thought.

Well Don,

That JDM canned tune is looking pretty good to me right now... :P

I think you will love the KB kit and since this is the second one your tuner has done, it should be trouble free...

Added:

P.S. My vote for Rocker lettering would simply be be GTSC. The number is a little confusing as most people think it means HP and the car will be making more than 400hp at the rear wheels....

So, if you have to have a number, go with GT400SC or just GT400S might work better...

Don't jinx it. :nono: The main difference is that his is a manual, and mine's an auto.

Those have 95 runs (and 95 burnouts) on them. They hook very well. I know that JDM ran as low as 11.69 with the same M/T tire, so I'm pretty sure they'll hook for me, too. If not, I'll go to a taller tire (not really wider).

On the street however... that's going to be a whole 'nother story. haha
Hi Don,

FYI When JDM ran the 11.69 at Epping last August they were on BFG Drag Radials.

I'm running the BFG's myself only because I got them for next to nothing.

I'll be switching to M/T myself when the time comes.

Looks like maybe we were both mistaken. I ckecked an old thread, and it looks like they were running M/T ET Streets (not drag radials at all). Unless his post is wrong in this thread: http://www.modularfords.com/forums/2005-mu...-car-31634.html

That timeslip is from the 9'th of July 2005

The pic I took at Epping was on the 20'th of August 2005

I believe he was running lower gears that day but I'm not sure.

I know that the kooks headers were in that day.

Oh I hear ya - and no way am I dissing Jim or JDM either - every single thing I have heard about them is totall y top notch!
