NA vs Nitrous or Supercharging

So how many guys are NA purists and why is it that they could call anybody ho installs a power adder such as Nitrous or superchargers "Cheaters" ?

So anybody whats your opinion on this?

Right now I'm NA but I don't discriminate. I'd like nitrous in the nearer future and I'd like to eventually built a blown motor. Not sure why some consider it cheating. Costs a lot to go fast either way, unless you run nitrous lol

I ran nitrous when I had a boring 4 banger and wanted to try out a performance bump. It's impractical if you want to use it on the street, but it would definitely help ET's. You've got to keep refilling the bottle, and pressure changes with temperature so you'll want to have a bottle warmer to keep the A/F consistent.

If you have the budget for a S/C and the means to get it tuned so it is reliable, go for it.

I think nitrous has much more of a reputation as cheating because it's a low cost trick to squeeze more performance out of an engine that it wouldn't have under normal driving conditions.

Cause that's how it was in the muscle car era.

You LEARNED how to build an engine or you lost.

$3500 PD 450rwhp supercharger with OEM reliability makes everything else pretty much obsolete.

Nothing wrong with NA, nothing wrong with SC, nothing wrong with turbo, nothing wrong with nitrous...nothing wrong with 250hp in a car that only weighs 1,400lbs. Fast is fast. If there are no rules, then it's not cheating. Sounds more like people making excuses for not having the faster car...

There's different reasons for each setup, and they're all respectable.
