Muffler Deletion
At a local cruise night last night, I run into a guy with an '06 GT. As he's backing into his spot, it sounds like he's got a set of GTA mufflers on it. I'm looking at his exhaust and notice his Magnaflow exhaust tips. I ask him how he likes the mufflers and if he has any problem with droning. He says no problem at all but that his exhaust isn't exactly what it seems. I take a look under the car and he's got no mufflers. He had a custom pipe bent from the axle back and had the tips welded on. He's got the stock cats and the stock H pipe. Only thing is, no mufflers. He starts it up again and I can't believe what a nice mellow sound it had. Very close to the GTA's.
I'm scratching my head as to why it wasn't loud. The Borla stingers are much louder and they are mufflers. Here he's got none and it's not loud at all and sounds great. Can someone please explain? Thanks.

I know what you mean. A friend has had his re-worked to cener exhaust with no muffler. Same result, sounds nice, not as loud as you'd expect. is this safe or good for car?
