I bought the MRT Catted H recently and some Pypes overaxle pipes and the install's turned out to be an ongoing process. The H pipe came in two pieces, the H pipe was a slip joint in the middle, with no clamps provided or slits to accomodate clamps anyways. Also, there are no hangers on there so nothing is holding it in place except for the bolts on the manifold and the hangers back at the mufflers.

First I tried to do the install myself, and snapped a stud off of the exhaust manifold

So I took the stock parts off and towed it to my local garage, where the mechanic put new studs on both manifolds, and put everything in place with SS clamps, except with nothing on the part where the two H segments connect.

I was told by the mechanic to expect installation smell/smoke from the oils for the first few days, but that's gone away and in place I smell exhaust in the cabin. I took a look and there's visible shimmering exhaust coming out of that H.

I'm going back and forth with Brenspeed and MRT to see what's the best way to fix this but I wanted to share the issue with you folks. Based on the pictures I assumed the two segments were welded together, but that's not the case and no hardware is provided to address that.

Chase from Brenspeed got back to me quickly and talked to MRT, recommending that it be welded. I took it back to my mechanic - they didn't weld it but clamped it and sealed it up. All set now with some new Flowmaster 40's. Glad to have it all set and it sounds great!
