Moving To Denver

Needed some help here like the title states I plan on moving to Denver. Looking into the emission testing has been less then encouraging.

So my question, is Denver just as strict if not more so when it comes to modifications then California?

Does this mean my dream of long tube headers and high flow cats is dead? Do I have to stick with dreaded C.A.R.B certifications?

any help, advice or link to a website will help, nothing I have found so far has been very specific

What a coincidcence!

Next month there are plans for a peaceful demonstration tour in downtown Denver by naked bicycle riders protesting high emissions vehicles.
That would be a reception to remember. And, you'd get to show off your long tube headers.

welcome to my State and Town, hope you'll have fun here. As for the modifications rules, I'm not sure. Good luck!

Emission testing here in Denver is questionable. They do a visual to make sure your cats are on,they have a mirror attached to an extended handle. They also plug into your cars computer system. The set your rear wheels on a set of rollers, kind of like a dyno and rev the engine up to around 2500 + rpm for a minute or so. You get a pass or fail certificate and pay $25.00 bucks. You do have to display the 50-state legal stickers on your C.A.I.,I had a 96'GT with a MAC CAI and had to run down to Colorado Mustang(just down the street from e-center) and get a decal for my intake.

I've heard its difficult to pass with hi-flo cats.I could check to see what standards are and send a PM.I have another 3 years before I do my first E-test.

Lots of cruizing action here in Denver if your into that sort of thing.Plus they are have a big Ford fest(Bandimere's) at the end of the month. If your coming from a lower altitude your car will be slower. It is a mile high.

thanks alot any info you can provide would be way awesome, strange though that your CAI has to be 50 state legal but high flow cats are ok as long as you pass *rolls eyes*
