I am going to use a Diablo MAF.ia to solve the pegged MAF problem with the Saleen SC installation.
After the MAF.ia arrived, I started to wonder where to mount it. It does not have any mounting holes in the case so I would assume that 3M Double sided High Pressure tape would be the best mount. However this requires a flat cool surface.
The Stock MAF wiring is kinda short. I realize that I can cut the tape that holds the stock wiring harness together in the split conduit and move the wires back toward the firewall. The MAF.ia has a two foot pigtail that will just reach the stock MAF from the fire wall.
Have any of you guys used one of these things? If so how did you mount it?
Thanks....

I am using it with an STC Xcal2. If you set the unit to anything other than stock, you will have to re-programmed the Air/Fuel curve as it will lean the car out...
Basically, it just takes the stock 0-5v signal from the MAF and extendes the range from 0-5v to 0-5.5, 0-6.0, 0-6.5, etc depending on boost levels. It has eight different power level settings... ( 400hp - 800hp )
It will work with any programmer, but if you are using the Diablo, you can simply check the box in the software for the switch setting and it will adjust the F/A curve for you. With the SCT software the tunner simply has to manually add a fixed number to each setting...

Can you use one of those with an SCT tuner?
Are there any draw backs to using this?

The real use for it though is if you are pegging your MAF meter with the addition of a supercharger or some other form of power adder. For a stock vehicle there's no requirement for it.
Also, if you do use it on one of the settings besides stock then you will have to be tuned for it, using either a wideband to check the a/f or having it on the dyno with a/f being monitored.
Thanks, Doug.
