Motorcraft Full Synthetic 5-20

I get lifetime free oil changes at the dealer so I paid the difference for the synthetic Motocraft after 10K miles. The engine runs smoother and the exhaust note changed. The cost was $5.35 a quart.I felt it was worth it. The throttle reponse doesn't feel as boggy either.

No offense, but oil isn't going to affect any of those things. But hey - if you're happier than that's what matters.

Are you talking about the semi-syn Motorcraft? Because that stuff is only like $2 a quart. Any more than that and you are getting ripped.

I understand, looks like Motorcraft makes a full syn 5-30 according to their website. It also shows a 5-20 full syn, but doesn't have much info on that. I did not know that before.

Glad I got Mobil 1 as a sponsor since the recent hike is the price of oil and all. I was running MC but now I am all about Mobil 1

How many miles does the car need to have on it before you switch to synthetic. My Harley dealer told me 5000 on my bike, and my Dodge dealer said the same for my Daytona.

I changed mine over at it's first oil change. (3000 miles.) I have close to 18 K now with no issues. They used to say wait until 10K to change over but most cars now come out of the factory with a synthetic blend and some with full synthetic in them.

+1 to Scott. I changed mine at about 1800 miles and change it every 2000 miles since then. Yes I know ~2000 miles is **** but I consider it cheap insurance.

Hey, anythings possible. I hope you're right, 'cause I'm switching at my next oil change.

Sweet car, btw.

That Mobile 1 syn is really the best product out there,I run that in my 06'Freestyle and wifes Taurus. But as long as the dealer is giving free oil changes I'll pay the difference on the house brand and let them haul off my old oil

Well...I really didn't tell the whole truth. I really did my first oil change at 500 miles just to flush out all the bad stuff. That time I changed it with Mortorcraft 5w20. At 3K is when I went Mobil 1. How's that for being ****??

I switched to Mobil1 at 1,600 and have noticed that the engine is smoother. Before the switch I could have sworn that the engine wasn't purring like the day I took it off the lot and since the oil change everything has been great. If your a nonbeliever, give it a try and see if you think your car runs smoother. It is a small price to pay.

Poco, I run Mobil 1 in the engine and Royal Purple in the trans. Which Royal Purple gear fluid did you put in the rear?
