I ordered the C&L and X-cal combo last week. I received an e-mail today that the order was shipped. I checked tracking number and it will be here tomorrow I will post results after installation.

I've been driving on mine for about two weeks now. I love them both. When the track opens in spring I'm going try to do a head to head compairo on the 2 tunes. (If anyone has done this please post your results). I think the performance tune will bring a tad better 1/4 time.

There's also other benefits with the Dougy Tune. Besides improved gas milage, the acceleration has smoothed out considerably! Even my 11yr old son made a comment the first time we tried it out. The funny thing is, the stock tune seemed smooth, but now it's smooth as glass. Doug also upped the rev limiter. I use to hit the stock limit all the time because it seemed the engine just wanted more and was still pulling/charging hard. By feel, it just didn't seem to be done yet, if you know what I mean. Since Doug bumped the limit up to 6800, I hav'nt hit the rev limiter once. I've been shifting at 6400 which seems about perfect.

I haven't had a chance to try a comparison in the 1/4, but I have done it on an 1/8-mile track. End result... very little difference for me. The Torq tune was generally a few hundredths quicker than the Perf tune (it showed in the 60' times). Maybe in a 1/4-mi, there would be enough track and time for the top end hp of the Perf tune to make up that difference and actually be quicker than the Torq tune.

The problem we have with track testing these tunes is that there are so many variables (heat soak, air density, driver inconsistency, etc.) that can account for a few 1/100's of a second between two or more runs, that it's really difficult to compare the two. If the difference was a 1/10-sec or more, then it would be more obvious... but a few hundredths is kind of in the noise level.

Here's my normal responce for that question.....
The Torque and Performance programs differ in the range they are aimed at for making power. The Torque is more so a daily driver program that focuses in on the 1500-3500 rpm's band. In order to do so well in that range though it does give up a few HP up top and this is why I break it apart from my Performance adjustments. The Performance program is aimed at more of a 3000rpm and up rpm band focusing in more on the top end horsepower and all out performance driving.
I was of the understanding that the car can be programmed to change it's timing and fuel mix, etc. at say, 3500 or 4000rpm for example, thereby getting the best performance out of both low and top.

Can you expand on that? Besides the obvious that the tune is designed for 93 oct.

I had Doug build mine for 93 oct. and it turns out a lot of the places that use to carry it in my area, no longer do. I've been using 91 oct and adding a octane booster to compensate and bring it up to 93.

I'm not for sure on this, but from reading other posts it seems like you could get the 91 tune from Doug and just have him e-mail it to you. I'm sure there would be a charge but it would probably we worth it since you're paying for the octane booster anyways.

It's about $5 extra for the booster per fill up. I'm not too concerned about that. I thought about getting the 91 tune, but whats the performance difference between 91-93 tune??? Maybe Doug can chime in here....

Since 93 Octance is not an option here, Doug wrote my tunes for 91 octane.

What happened to me is that I had A 1/4 of a tank of 87 and filled up the rest with 93 installed the 93 tune and car did not run well at all.Had to reflash with the 87 performance tune and then the car ran fine. So make sure all the 87 is out of it before you download the 93 tune! You may ask Doug to get you a tune for the 91 octane along with the 93.
