Mono Blade Throttle Body
This might be a crazy question but im just trying to learn a little. Can a monoblade throttle body work on a vehicle that is not super charged? Evolution performance has a 160mm monoblade throttle body advertised, would something like this work?

I would imagine it would "work" but as for how much you'll gain, it's marginal at best. The engine can only move so much air as it is.

I was told when I got my blower that the stock TB will flow without problems to about 520HP, after that a bigger or monoblade TB would improve flow and help HP. If you're stock I can't imagine that appreciable gains would be worth the justification.

well i got all the bolt ons, except heads/cams/C&l intake manifold. with all the bolt on and those three items i just mentioned along with custom tuning of course, would the monoblade work then? Should i just stick with a gt500 throttle body?

If it were me, I'd call Brenspeed, Bamachips or ST motorsports and see what they say. A decent tuner would tell you without trying to sell you the thing if you don't really need it.
IMO, I still don't think you're at the power level yet. FWIW I'm at 475rwhp, yes it's blown, but it isn't a restriction on mine

In a recent 5.0 &SF magazine, they did a write up on a GT500 that had a monoblade as part of a blower upgrade package. They then tried the new BBK dual 65mm throttle and said it got rid of some of the low speed surging problems, yet flowed almost as much as the monoblade. Made very little HP differences.

I'm all for squeezing every bit out but at the same time your money's spent better elsewhere. I'm running the BBK but had a lot of problems out of it at first. IMO it's more of a pain than anything, and as already stated your not near that power level yet. At 530+ your looking at a pretty aggressive set up, and probably looking at one of those awesome black diamond TB's

the problem i have with the gt500 peice is that the rubber hose that came with it to attach to the CAI fits loosely, definitely not snug at all. i have a C&L racer CAI and the rubber hose to attach to the intake and throttle body is garbage, i cant find a smaller one anywhere.
anybody experience this? the hose is got to be a good inch bigger on the side connecting to the CAI
