CMCV'S ? help.

I have a SCT tuner for my 2005 gt. It has the option to turn off the cmcv's, my question is if I turn them off do they stay off in the open or closed position ?

If you have not replaced the stock plates with a set of deletes than you "do not" want to turn them off. I really am not sure about them staying open or closed but my guess would be closed. When you turn them off you are deactivating the motor that controls them.

Yeah, I would definitely not risk it. What if they stay closed while at WOT...?

i think i asked brenspeed this a while back and i think they said that you use that option if you changed the plates and its the only mod you have on the vehicle. But dont quote me on that cause im not sure, sorry.

if you use this option be careful cause if you try and change it back to stock setting with the plates still in, those plates can get "stuck" in whatever position they are in whether they are closed/open,half open. be careful and good luck with whatever you choose to do

Nice but you need to replace your stock ones with the ones that are the delete plates.

I was hoping that I could turn off the cmcv in the open pos. and avoid pulling the intake.

how are you going to be able to make sure that the plates are actually in the open position when you turn it off? i dont know if you can unless you physically check to see they are open when you shut it off.

plus becareful also because i heard a story of one of these cars, that one of the butterflys fell off the plate and boom goes the motor, so please try to avoid something like that from happening.

try on the back of the plates, i think there is a lever to manually open and close the plates. maybe wedge something in there so the plates are stuck open and then use the sct to turn the motor off. i have heard stories of people doing that, wether it was a success or not i dont know. good luck with whatever you decide.

Or stop being cheap and buy the the $120 part if you really want to have delete plates. Why risk your engine over $130?
