Modifying stock tune with a Predator

I am trying to modify my stock tune to my new axle ratio. However I keep getting ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE. I am using the latest software revision on the predator and dont have problems with the stock tune or any of Doug's tunes. But whenever I try to modify the stock tune (even different parameters other than axel ratio) I get ENGINE FAILSAFE. Any ideas?

Have Doug do the calibration for you maybe?

Well I'm sure Doug can do it. But this is my "dealership tune". I don't think its worth spending any money on it. In theory the predator can do it. For some reason whenver i change any parameters in my stock tune (even fan speed) the engine goes into failsafe mode once the tune is loaded.

It's a checksum error. Only a dealer (tuner, that is) can fix this problem.

With the Predator you first installed it, and it backed up your original tune correct?

This means, it first read your stock tune, then wrote it to memory.. Of course this is after you selected whether or not your car is manual or automatic..

If you feel the Predator software on the handheld is corrupted, you can shoot over to Diablo's website, and download the software update program using your home PC. You will need to buy a 9 pin male to female serial cable. You will also need to have a serial port on your desktop or laptop PC..

The software is a free download and if need be, thats your last resort. You shouldn't have to pay anyone to tune your car, once you buy a Predator.. You can tune it yourself..

Here is the Software download page for you!

I have flashed mine in the past. Its a piece of cake!
