Mini Cats? What's what?

No not the meow kind. Just trying to familiarize myself with what's what when it comes to catalytic converters. I think from everything I've read so far that metallic is the way to go. I see some have the O2 port built in and some don't. Is that something that is needed? If so why? I have never run cats on my previous Mustangs but everything I read says I will hate life if I don't run them on the 3v motor.

Do you mean metallic verse ceramic substrate? I am probably wrong but I thought all cats had both materials in them. At least I know the magnaflow cats I bought have both metallic and ceramic in them...

Yeah I was refering to the substrate. I probably didn't word that right. Well I thought by things I have read that there are ceramic and metallic versions. Like if you look at the Pypes site their mini cats show 2 ceramic versions and then a metallic one.

Why would you hate your life if you ran O/R?

From my understanding cats work similar to a resonator on the 3v motor which helps reduce trumpeting, and also that tinny sound you experience from running off road mid-pipes.

Everyone just seems say they are way too raspy and poppy. Maybe I can run offroad w/ the resonators. I don't mind loud, I just want it to sound good.

Get 18" resonators, the 12s just don't quite make it sound as nice
