MAF Cleaning Procedure help
Is there a proper procedure for cleaning the MAF sensor? I've read to use caution when cleaning the sensor wires and to avoid touching the wires. Just wondering what is the best way to clean the MAF sensor and what's the best cleaning solution? Thx in advance.

The best way to clean it is to not get it dirty in the first place.
I am quite sure this part was not meant to be serviced... I could be completely wrong, but it IS such a sensitive part.
But if I had to clean mine, I'd prolly use some circuit board cleaner.
(not advice, just what I'd do)

Yes you must be very careful and you do not want to try and touch the wire with anything.
The best thing to do is go to Auot Parts store and buy a can of MAF Cleaner. Then remove the MAF and hold it by the plug area. Then look inside and you should be able to see the wire. Simply spray the cleaner inside the area with the wire. Do not hold it upside down when doing this. Simply spray and let dry and re install.

There was a thread stated by Doug about this and cleaning the throttle body , I believe it's in the performance section. He suggest a couple of products which I ordered and used ...

Thx... I remember that one... but don't recall if the MAF sensor cleaning was discussed (just the TB and TB plates).

You're right , he may not have directly addressed cleaning the MAF , but he did recommend a cleaner. Like was said above , just remove it and spray the wire inside. My MAF wasn't dirty at all , but my TB was coated with soot ...
