I'm not on the boards as much as I use to be so I apologize if this is beating a dead horse, but I'm about to put LT's on my 08 Bullitt. I had Jba's on the 06 GT and really liked them, but I really like what I'm hearing about the Kooks. Someone told me that if I go with Kooks and ever have to have a clutch replaced, they don't have to take them off to get to the tranny............which would save money in the long run.

I've seen the data on the Kooks and Jba's in the MM&FF testing and know the Kooks have higher Hp numbers. What are your suggestions? I will also be going with a catted midpipe (keeping the stock Bullitt mufflers).

 

I am having my installed as we speak so I will find out for you; but IMO I would think that you would still need to take at least one side off.

 

We at Brenspeed absolutly love the Kooks LT's. Fitment and quality is perfect. They are midlength mufflers and would not be required to be removed for tranny work. Pypes also released a mid lengh LT for half the price. Fitment and quality is also perfect. They are 304 stainless but are also polished. These headers are a kooks clone and we have yet to have a fitment issue. Give our sales team a call if you have any questions, either way you will be pleased.

I got my Kooks from Brenspeed about two years ago. Headers are awesome. Easily put them in myself with no fitment issues whatsoever. I say easily put them in. It took a few hours, actually about a day and a half doing it completely alone and taking alot of breaks but to this day they have been just fine. Everything lined up great from the heads to the mid-pipe, to the over axle pipes.

And they sound awesome!

 

I just installed a set of Kooks on my 07 mustang GT/CS and they fit perfect. I was able to install them in my garage with a set of jackstands and basic hand tools. I was able to get the drivers side in without disconnecting the steering shaft. These headers a quality product and would not hesitate on purchasing again. I also installed a brenspeed/steeda cold air kit and sct 93 performance tune at the same time,to bad there is 2 feet of snow here in Illinois,so it will be awhile for the road test.

 

I wish pypes offered a catted h pipe.. I would be all over this!

I will be changing from jba to mac and my jba's + o/r h pipe will be up for sale when i do. i already have the mac LTs + prochamber, but i just need to find the freakin time to do it. let me know if you have any interest.

also, i had my tranny rebuilt due to the 2/3rd gear grind tsb, and got charged some labor because the headers had to be partially taken off. so according to my ford dealer, at least one side will need to come off it the tranny is coming out.
