Ok I would love to get rid of that gap between the tire and the upper fender. I was thinking of just getting 18 inch rims and tires, but then I heard that the 18's can hurt the preformance of the car and you can loose power! That is not good for me. So I wanted to put new springs on the car and see where that gets me. What are the best for the 2005 mustang? I want to keep great traction and drivability as well. thanks any info whould be great. Oh and if anyone has pictures of there new springs with the stock wheels and tires, I would love to see them. I'm kind of limited to only seeing a few 05's here in the UK, and know one I know has lowerd theirs yet

I don't think the difference between 17" and 18" is significant. I had the same concerns as you. I have 18"s despite all the prodding from my dealer to go to 20"s. I don't feel any difference, but maybe someone else will chime in.

As far as springs, I have the Eibach Pro Kit. It's great. Lowers the car just right and handles well without being too harsh.

I too am looking into lowering springs... I've been hearing from friends that I should go with H&R Sport Springs rather than Eibach. Any opinions on this?

I think the H & R springs drop the car even lower than the Eibachs, but that's as much as I can tell you about them. I'm happy with my Eibachs, though.

I've read around the forums that dropping the car more than an inch will create quite a few issues. 1" alone is giving some alignment shops difficulty with the camber adjustment. You also might want to get a panhard bar. Some cars are worse than others. I couldn't imagine lowering more than 1". With 1", the car looks great!

I have also been told to go with H&R...and that Eibach springs on this car are giving the owners problems later on.

How about the Steeda springs?

That's what I think I'm going with eventually.

i have eibach sportlines because the prokit was just not nearly enough of a drop visually. lowered the car 2 in the front and 2.25 in the back, and now has one finger wheel gap in front and 2 in back (down from 4 and 5 fingers). handles like a dream, and still clears jsut bout every speed bump out there, although ya gotta go sideways over a few of them. ride is NOT harsh and very similar to stock comfort-wise. you WILL need CC plates tho, and even with those i still have a slight bit of negative camber, tho very small.

How many people have just lowered the rear? I want to drop the back end to be at the same height as the front, approx 3/4" to 1" drop on the rear alone. Any suggestions?

I'm planning on doing that as well Justin. I'm thinking about the Steeda springs in the rear only.
