Low dyno numbers?
FYI: In the latest 5.0 magazine they tested several CAI systems. http://mustang50magazine.com/techart...ld_air_intake/
The stock car (without HC trap) had 261rwhp. With JLT CAI it ran 288.9 (both on a MD Motorsports chassis dyno with 93 octane).

Mark, that's some good info, but on a Mustang Dyno, I believe he would be showing about 5% less hp than on a Dyno-Jet. My guess is that the timing could be advanced a few degrees, but that, again, should be left to Brenspeed. I havn't posted my best hp, but it wasn't til after about 4700 miles on the clock.

My personal view is you have top notch upgrades and a top notch tuner, (SCT & Brenspeed). Your car should start loosening up around the 3000 miles mark and I would suspect you'll see better mileage and prolly more horsies.
Good luck!
Paul

Hey guy,
I haven't seen the dyno sheets but if you say your Hp peaked at a low number and then the power flatten off then you have a knock sensor activation in which it is pulling timing at above that RPM and not making any power.
I've seen this quite a few times especially with the 93 canned tune from SCT. Consult with Brent as I'm sure he can get you straight, every car is different and we all have small issues time to time.
Thanks, Doug.

Thanks for your input!!! I wondered about that, it just seemed to stop building power and flattened off to redline. If you think that's the issue, I'll install the 87 tune and see if that helps. With the 93 octane fuel, there should be no knock sensor problem with that tune (hopefully).
Again thanks to everyone thats responded.

dyno number's don't mean squat my car made 265rwhp stock dynojet ,with the jlt, steeda udp,jet tb spacer, shortie headers,o/r-x-pipe,flowmaster's x-cal2 93 octane tune i made 307=rwhp-321=rwtq and have run 12.20 107.64=n/a 11.52=112 125 shot so if you don't make what you expected don't be mad because it does not take alot of horsepower to make the 05-06 gt go fast, that is with full int no lightweight rims no race seat's stock suspension with the exception of strange shock's and bmr lower's at #3620 not 3400 like some people claim

Was you car dyno'd on a Mustang dyno or a Dynojet?
I thought that once you hit a peak hp # generally a flat curve after that is good.

It was a Dynojet.
I was thinking that my peak power should come at a higher rpm than 4900. Maybe I'm wrong, but Doug has me wondering if I am hitting the knock sensors.
This morning I tried the 87 tune, and it seems to pull stonger at the high end of the rpm range; 4500 and higher. So, I'm going to burn thru the tank of gas that I have, fill up at a different station with 93, and then try the 91 octane tune to see how it runs.
Again, thanks to everyone.

FYI: I updated my dyno spreadsheet. It will allow you to compare your #s to others with CAI systems.

Update:
Yesterday I topped off the tank with 93 fuel again and loaded the 91 tune. It pulls noticeably harder than before they dyno run, so I'm wondering if I had a combination of low octane and new tune. Today I'll load the 93 tune again and drive it for a couple of days to see how it responds.
Also, today I spoke with Brent at Brenspeed and he was very informative and awesome to deal with! He pointed out some things that may or may not have effected the dyno reading, and we will be meeting in the upcoming weeks to re-dyno the car and fine tune it.
Thanks to Brent for his quick response and great customer service!!!!

The long of it...
Normally I would say a stock GT should have around 270 rwhp and less than 300 torque. Accourding to the dyno and not having a stock pull to compare you have to assume he is making those numbers stock. His butt meter says he is making a significant difference in power he can feel when the tune is added. So things dont really add up. The simple solution would be to say the car was making less than 270 rwhp stock. But that may or may not be the case. Other problems could be gas, dyno, testing method, MAF diameter variance, and tune. He is running the same tune I make over 300 rwhp with when combined with a couple other basic mods so I doubt it would be the tune but as any good problem solver would say all variables must be addressed. Regardless we are going to put his car on the dyno to help him out.
Brent will take care of this, I knew very little about mods and such on these cars. In a few phonecalls Brent has doubled my knowledge freely and very friendly. Now when I go to the my local Mustang club meeting I'm not the idiot owner, in fact as far the 05 guys I'm one of the more knowledgeable. Thanks Brent.
But, I still can't spell and type, any help on that Brent?
