Long tubes vs O/R H pipe

So I'm trying to figure out whether or not it's going to be worth it to get long tube headers. I can get an h pipe for like $160 while the headers and all involve are gonna be like $450. I don't mind spending the money but if the headers aren't gonna give me a substantial advantage it doesn't seem worth it. Can anyone lay some knowledge on me?

Long tube headers are so worth it. Here are my results after a dynotune and other simple modification:
Mods are SLP 1 3/4 primary long tube headers w/3in high flow cats and X-pipe and over axel
Steeda cold air intake and 170 degree thermostat.
The results at the dyno were 413 rwhp and 389 rwtq.
We got 487 at the engine.
93 tune
The dynotune was done on a hot day so my numbers would have been better if it was cooler.

Hmm wow that's like 70 horse. I know we've got different motors but if I can see gains relative to yours I'd be pretty stoked. Currently I have cams a CAI and axelbacks. If I could be between 300 and 350 rwhp I'd be pretty gassed. The guy at Bama said that with my current mods and tunes I should have like 310 rwhp. Dunno if I trust those guys lol

Since you are cammed you should go for the longtubes. Those manifolds are restricting your gains.

Get a CAI with some long tube headers so you can get it all dyno tuned at the same time and you should be around 370-380rwhp

Yea I have a CAI, I'm waiting to get a few more bolt ons before I get dyno tuned. Right now I have a CAI, cams, 410s, and FM ABs. I wanna at least have my headers and a throttle body before I get dyno tuned. That's the plan at the moment anyway...

To be honest with you, a throttle body may not be worth the money. I hear you will get only 2 to 4 extra horsepower, at least on my car. It might be the same with yours. But if it makes you feel better then get it.

Yea that's true. I really only want it for the throttle response anyway. What's the going rate for a dyno tune?

$300.00 but for my car there is no software. So they have to use SCT X-caliber hand held tuner then fine tune it with their laptop. So that an extra $375.00 to buy the hand held. Total $675.00 plus tax. I dont know about yours.

LT and high flow x pipe with stock mufflers gave my car a whole new sound and pep. I know mine is a lil ol 4.6 but you will get the same satisfaction that I did from this upgrade.

What throttle body are you going to be going with?

On the 3V a good set of L/Ts are going to get you around 30-40HP
