Long Tube Headers Self Installation?
Sweet guys! I am so excited to hear that the Long tubes can be installed in my garage. To put the LTs on my Mystic it cost me a Metric azz ton of $.
So what brand should I get? And this can really be done without dropping K members, Trannys, etc, etc

Im still very interested in performance numbers from the Hooker Super Comps....
Anybody have any idea how much power they actually make? I called Hooker and they werent really clear on how much their employee's car made in the power department.

Ok, I went ahead and ordered the Hooker SuperComps from Summit, along with the Strange Rear Shocks. Everything will be here on Thursday so I have some time to get a new tune from DTP. I also need to locate some short lengths of exhaust tubing so I can make a slip connector for the collector to the stock H-Pipe. I like to leave out having shops do my work if I can help it.
I cant wait till I get to hear these SuperComps along with my SLP Loudmouths.
I'll take some pics of the install and provide a video (plus audio) sample.

I just completed the install of my Titanium Ceramic Coated JBA Longtube Headers tonight. The fit and finish are awesome
It took me a total of 8 Hours without the use of my air compressor (too long a story)
I removed the starter in 5 minutes flat with no problems. As a matter of fact I didn't even know that there was a starter issue till now.
As you will see from the photos the headers are much closer to the frame rails than stock.
So the center to center distance of the JBA's is much wider than stock.
I couldn't tell you if yours Hookers will be the same but i went scrambling this morning to find a JBA H-pipe in stock locally.
I finally found someone who had both the offroad and the catted H-Pipe in stock for a reasonable price.

I installed my JBA LT's a couple weeks ago. I had to raise the engine about 2" or so. I removed the engine mount brackets from the engine also. Made it alot easier to get to bolts. Car runs great. Doug at Bama helped me with my tune. The headers leaned it out some.
Make sure you get a tight seal reusing the factory gasket, I could have swore I had mine as tight as it would go, wrenched them down in the order specified on the instructions, ran it for about 3 months, retightend the bolts i could get to without having to dismantle the car 2 times during that time.
I took them off tonight to put the stock stuff back on and there were carbon leak stains near 3 of the 4 exhaust ports.
I have had nothing but problems with mine, they vibrate against the frame, sound tinny from about 2k-3500 RPMS while under load.

The Hookers are not located as near to the frame or other objects (starter or steering linkage) to cause any vibration like the JBA LTs. I'll take some pics on Monday when I get the car up in the air once again.
