LCA/UCA install how-to?
LCA/UCA install how-to?
I could swear I found an install walkthrough for both LCAs and the UCA on this forum a bit back, but can't seem to find one (even our trusty Taco Bill doesn't have one!). Searches don't seem to be turning it up. Anyone???

If you can wait a couple weeks I'll be installing my LCA's and LCA relo brackets at Bill's and he'll more than likely make a write-up using the pics he takes during my install. As for the UCA your on your own.

Installation is pretty straight forward and I've done it twice now--15 minute job a side. Jack up the rear and put jack stands under the rear axle tubes. Be sure that when you lower the rear onto the jack stands that the axle tubes land squarely on the jack stand cradles. The more you are off, the more the axle will shift when the bolts come out (*see below).
Only do one arm at a time. REPEAT--only do one arm at a time.
Pop the emergency brake cable off each brake caliper. I used a screwdriver to pop the cable end off. Remove both bolts/nuts. Take the stocker out. Reverse to install and torque to spec.
Note that there is an offset in the width of the back end bushing of the stock LCA. Be sure that the offset in the new arm is oriented towards the correct side of the car.
Zip tie the emergency brake cable to the LCA. Repeat for the other side.
*Have a ratchet strap handy. It is hard to avoid having the axle shift a very slight amount, which misaligns the holes where the back of the LCA's attach to the axle. Hook up the ratchet strap and it takes a second to cintch it back into place.

Nice tribute car.
Lowers are in, QA1 adjustable shocks going in after I wolf down lunch, then underdrive pullies. Tomorrow, the car goes on a lift to make the upper control arm install less of a strain on my shoulder, and set the pinion angle. The the track Sunday to dial the sucker in...
