KB BAP on max, wasting a lot of fuel?
KB BAP on max, wasting a lot of fuel?
Well KB recomended to just set the control module on max for my nitrous setup. However, I feel like my fuel economy has been going down. Significantly, not really. However KB told me that the BAP doesn't even increase fuel flow unless your maxing out your stock fuel pump. If this is correct, why would the fuel consumption go up, even under regular driving?
Thanks,

short answer, no. there should be no increase in fuel consumption.
with the returnless fuel system it uses the fuel pump driver module and fuel pressure sensor to continously turn on and off the fuel pump (pulse width modulation) to get the required pressure.
the kenne bell boost a pump increases the voltage to the pump (to about 20volts). in comparison its like have a ceiling fan on medium as the stock setup and for the boost a pump, turning the fan on and off to maintain the same rpms as on medium.
i think you can datalog the fuel pump duty cycle with the SCT. record WOT with BAP on and with BAP off.

I wanted to say the same thing earlier today but I have to admit it has been years since I had a BAP from Kennebell. (On a 1996 Cobra) But I thought there was a switch and it turned the BAP on only when you were are WOT. Hence there is no reason for you to be using more fuel UNLESS you are spending alot more time at WOT!
Are you running two different tunes for the car: one for nitrous and one for normal, everyday driving? I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the increased fuel consumption, but I remember reading somewhere that a nitrous tune doesn't work to well for everyday driving
. Could this have anything to do with the problem?

boost a pump is probably on all the time, unless you installed a vacuum switch which almost no one does. look up tacobills install. theres two wires that are just connected with a wire cap. retarded timing can cause a slight decrease in efficiency.
