I was at the track last night and was looking at Dustins K&N CAI and noticed it hits the coolant resorvoir. Also he said it popped of one time from the rubber adapter at the throttle body.
If you run this setup I would Contact cement the platsic tube to the rubber throttle body adapter. If you make power you will want to do this. When the motor torques up it pushes the plastic tube into the resorvoir and can make the plastic tube pull out from rubber. Then the CEL will come on.

I check mine at least every other week, if not every week when I wash my car. I've only had to tighten it up once in three months. At the throttle body and at the filter itself. Mine isn't even close to the resorvoir, it would have to move quite a bit to hit mine. Is he running the throttle body spacer also?

Yeah I plan on doing this Saturday. As you can see my resevoir is close to the intake.

I do have the TB spacer. I want to relocate the resevoir tank somehow. The mouning holes on the tank can be slotted with a dremel to move it over about a quarter inch. It would be nice to find some kind of resevoir relocation kit for it and move it way out of the way. I may have to machine some kind of bracket here at work to do it.

Any recommendations on what type/brand of contact cement to use?

I have my K&N with the T/B Spacer, it barely touches the coolant tank, but I'm not worried, no problems here.

And here is how close it is with the T/B Spacer....

Until you try racing it and the engine torques and knocks it off.

Can you use the K&N CAI with the stock intake tube? The K&N hard plastic looks cheap IMO.

It actually isn't, I love it, once again, since day of install, no movement, no reinstalling or retightening, runs strong!!

And the answer to your question, no, you cant use the K&N with the stock tube, if you want to do that, then get a K&N drop in airfilter

Looks better than the stock tube that turns purple over time which looks cheap. You can Armor All the K&N tube and it looks nice.

As I said in the reply to the PM you sent me, the MMR and Steeda intakes use the stock tube, but require tunes because they set off your check engine light.
