JLT2 or Airaid?

Does anyone here have experience with the Airaid CAI for the 05-07 GT?

http://www.ninosport.com/AIRAID-Cold...&category=3774

It is attractive because it has a modular piece in the intake tube which gives you the option of running without a tune, or removing it and reflashing with a tune for more air and performance.

If you run the Airaid without the MVT piece and with a tune, will it have identical performance to a JLT2 with a tune?

I would say go with the jlt/sct combo because I can't really see just the intake doing that much.

JLT, there is so much power to be found in the tune.

Ok. But I intend to have a tuner with whichever one. I guess my question is Airaid/sct combo or JLT/sct combo? Does anyone know anything that just sucks about the Airaid? Or a reason to get JLT besides price?

I have the Airaid on mine. They are local to me, and I get fantastic pricing.

Word to the wise though, taking out the Venturi and tuning for it won't gain you anything on an otherwise stock motor. You'll get the same results tuning it with the venturi in.

Oh and just the Airaid by itself without tuning does perform well, there is definately a difference. But more can be had with a tune. Doug at Bamachips has tunes for the Airaid, both with the venturi in and out. He'll also tell you the same thing about having the Venturi out, not worth it on a stock motor (no forced induction, pnp heads, cams...)

I think the Airaid is a good choice if you don't have the dough for a tuner right away. And when you do get a tuner, a little more to be gained out of it as well.

Talk to Doug about numbers, he'd have the data on it.

I say JLT, but if you are concerned for a tune voiding your warranty, go with airraid or a FRPP and see if you dealer will offer the factory warranty still to you if you buy it from him and have him install it.

Another vote for JLT. If you are going to get a tuner anyway, just get the JLT because it will be hard to go back to just running the CAI after you feel how well it works with the tune! I just did this mod myself and got the tunes from Bamachips. Well worth the money!

As I was replying, you slipped this post in there. If you are getting the tuner anyway...I'd get the JLT2 package from Bamachips

I staggered my purchases and since I get such great pricing on Airaid, it was hard to pass up.
