Scott that install is outstanding. I am wondering if you race this car as I am thinking that cover holds a lot of heat in the engine and these motors do not like heat. Please advise.

FWIW- my car has been down the 1/4 about 12 times one day late last summer and I had no problems. I was worried about it when I installed the kit but I've never had any problems.

I also was kind of worried about the cover keeping additional heat trapped under it but I have seen no evidence of it. I probably will never race this car as it is more of a daily driver. I installed the shaker last Feb. and have put approx. 10k in miles even thru the hot summer months and I can say... no issues. It may acutally be a trade off as when I am sitting at a traffic light I can see heat coming out around the shaker that would otherwise be trapped. And when the car is moving if sure it makes no difference. There are alot of cars coming out of the factory with complete engine covers on them now. BMW...Lexus... etc. As you can see from my pictures mine needs a good cleaning but I love the way it looks and get tons on compliments on it.

We'll I finally got the Bamachips Tune today, and installed the JLT. Two questions.
Instructions: Replace the factory hard line PCV hose on the valve cover with the hose in the JLT kit.Any concern of these coming off without applying some type of clamp to tighten down both ends?
Then I put on the Shaker Unit, and didn't pick up any extra tubing to marry it up to the JLT Heat Shield. Those of you that have done this mod, would you say 5" of 3" diameter rubber or plastic tubing will do?
Thanks

FWIW, I've had the PCV hose that JLT supplies on my car for over 1 year now with no clamps, and it's never came off; no problems.
As far as the extra tubing, all I used was one plastic plumber's piece that I picked up for a couple bucks at the hardware store. Otherwise if you want to run a line more like Scott's, then I would think 6" of tubing would be fine.

No doubt that shaker would look awesome...... it would compliment the black stripes exceptionally well, Rich.
Don't worry, your support group is waiting......

Finished Work.
Thanks to all of you that guided me in the right direction. I also picked up some grommets where the pvc tube and maf connector comes through the shaker shield. Oh, and there was some dremmel cutting going on with the area around the throttle body, the shaker shield was digging into the JLT inlet tube.
The inlet cutout on the JLT heatshield looks as if the tubing is hitting the filter, but thats just the camera angle, theres room for movement without hitting.I re used the coupler that joined the tubing on the shaker to the factory airbox and slid this into the newly created hole in the JLT Heatshield. Clamped both sides down.
Thanks Again

Now I'm looking for some rubber trim to go along the top of the heatshield, as seen on the C&L's. Example of pic below. Anyone know where I might find this? I've looked at Napa, Kragen, Lowes, Home Depot....
Get Out There And Drive It, I haven't stopped since the install!
Thanks
