JLT intake
a friend of mine has a JLT intake that another buddy of mine wants. he would like to know if it is 100% necessary to have it tuned if all he has is the JLT on his '07 GT. i am curious as well i suppose. i have read everywhere on sites that SELL them that you do but i was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience? thanks

Fair enough, I don't know too much about 07 CAI, didn't know if JLT required tune or not.
I ran my 11 GT with a Steeda CAI with no tune for a few days and it ran just fine, threw a lean code though

It's very simple: an after-market intake pulls more air into the engine. If you have more air but are pulling the same amount of fuel in, you run lean. The tune will adjust the fuel intake to match the greater air intake, resulting in -- wait for it -- more horsepower! Oh my gosh!
So yeah, a tune is needed.
