I haven't heard anyone else mention the hose issue. Has this been a recurring thing, or did hawgman just get short-hosed?

He's got the steeda CAI, which retains the factory arm & hose and the factory hose does not stretch anymore than what its at right now......

BTW, is this something that I can easily install between dyno runs, you think? It sounds pretty straightforward...

Very easy install...20 min.'s top's. Should be no problem to install durring dyno, just have the right tool's gathered up before hand.

My hose was also short. You might need a piece of 3/8 th's hose a couple of inches long.

[attachmentid=28894]I wonder if a manual GT would benefit from this. I really haven't felt any lag. Any manual cars tried this yet?

MY UPDATE: THis Jet TB Spacer is kick hiney if you ask me! My throttle response is great ,and car pulls awesome. I have finally had a chance to beat on car a bit today and it definetely runs better with this "cheapie" mod. My car has just about zero lag now! I can burn more tire off start, and get a harder 1-2 chirp than i did before. Like i stated before...i have no dyno available...so it is all SOTP for me! For the money...this is a great little part!Hey...we all had no problem forking over stupid amounts of money for Mufflers that gave us no gains...other than looking pretty, and a little rumble...but come on...300-400 plus dollars! WTF! This TB is a steal!

That's why I posted the dyno sheet. I assume the lag is where the upward curve slightly dips between 3000 and 4000 rpms? Besides the SOTP feeling, I'm just curious if that TB spacer would take that dip out of the upward curve.

I installed mine tonight, but it wasn't without some drama (seems par for the course for me )
First, one of the new studs snapped off inside the manifold... so the TB is now being held on by three bolts. It doesn't seem to be leaking at all, and since the manifold will go away when the SC is put on, I'm not too concerned, but it is a little frustrating.
Second, the electrical connector on the drivers side of the TB doesn't seem to want to snap back on tight. It stays in place OK, but it doesn't have a positive "click" to it.
Third, my vent tube was too short like a couple others noted. But, of course, the little box where I kept all my misc tubing has gone missing. No doubt one of the kids or my wife put it somewhere and no one seems to know where. So I need to stop tomorrow and buy some.
After all that fun, I took it for a short test drive, but really couldn't give it a thorough shake down. It feels like it runs better in the sub-3500rpm range, but I can't say with 100% confidence that performance is better or not. Since I have an auto trans, I would think that it would improve my 60' times if it's pulling better between 2500 and 3500 rpms. I'll know for sure on Saturday after some track time.

So is anyone still considering the BBK TB instead of this or maybe down the road?
I wonder how a 62mm version of the Powr-Flo to go with the BBK would work out???

Give JET a call and they will send you replacement bolts and studs!

I have this mod on my next to-do list, but I have the JLT CAI and am concerned about clearance issues once the TBS is installed. Anyone with a JLT planning on this mod?

UPDATE: After my 20-mile commute this morning (a combination of stop & go, and highway traffic), I can safely say I believe throttle response is definitely more crisp in the sub-3000rpm range. I notice it when under normal acceleration (no WOT chances during rush hour... hehe), like pulling away from a light, or when passing on the highway. It's not an "OMG" type feeling, but it is a improvement well worth 100 bucks or so. It will be a bonus if it helps at the track, too!! Add me to the satisfied buyers list.

Will they also come and get the broken piece out of the intake manifold? :bang:

Take it to someone who can get it with an "easy-out"
