I am sure there is a significant difference. Most agree the shorties give you only about 5 HP if that, and the longtubes give 15-20. I wouldn't pay any attention to what the website says.

These cars are about the only production car I am aware of that has a decent exhuast system from the factory. The only significant gain in the exhuast is made with long tube headers. Shorties are not worth the money as JGT is correct that you'd be lucky to see a 5 hp increase, however long tubes with the correspoding tune can make anywhere between 20 and 28 hp more depending in the brand, with or without cats, ect.

I'd take a look into American Racing Headers. The JBA's are great, we've just had more significant gains with the ARH's. We have a set in stock right now we're putting on today. They fit the best, and seem to be made of a quality tooling. They're 304SS, and only a little bit more than JBA. It's worth the extra cash!

More than JBA? Are they as much as Kooks? Do you need new motor mounts for clearance?

Give me a call and I can give you pricing on ARH's... it's a one day special only. Then it returns to our regular competitive pricing tomorrow at around noon. These do not need different motor mounts for clearance. On an N/A vehicle you use the 1 5/8" headers, and they fit like a glove!

In your experience, does this statement apply to all 1 5/8" headers or simply the ARHs?

This statement applies to the one's we've installed here the most, being Amer Racing headers. I've had VERY LITTLE clearance issues with JBA and Kooks. Not enough to justify not purchasing, though. Then again, this comes from someone used to bashing in 2" primaries for big block chevy's in Camaros.
