Where on the GT 4.6 motor is the inlet air temp sensor located? Is it part of the map or somewhere else? Outside temp was around 61 but measured the inlet air was 110 and I was doing 70 at the time. I use the JTL pipe

Was your car sitting still @ that reading's time? I have noticed that once you get moving and cold air enters through the grill the intake temp drops quickly. I datalog constantly now so I know what Im posting about.

It's part of the MAF.

Six wires on the MAF. Two for the ACT, four for the MAF, its all incorporated now.
Unless your sucking fresh cold air, u still need to account for the underhood temps these cars make.
Even at 70mph, and 60 degrees, your creating alot of heat under the hood, the engine has no choice but to suck up all that hot air.
Ive always said, heat extractors would benefit highly on these cars. To relieve the under hood heat, and pressure.

Just my $.02 worth

Thanks to all. I still don't see how I could be going 70 and the IAT at 110 when outside temp is in the 60s Maybe I need some louvers in the hood.

I've totally insulated my inlet air box and inlet to the TB. Before I insulated the inlet to the TB I measured up to 158F on the underside of the TB at idle. The inlet air box (or air filter housing) air temp hit 123F at idle. I also measured the underside surface of the intake manifold....165F. Air space temp between the engine top and the bottom of the intake manifold was 183F!! I hope to insulate the intake manifold this winter when I get my exhaust manifolds jet-hot coated. There are a few more threads on the heat subject tucked in the WMS discussion. Good luck.
