1. neighbors hate me in the mornings? 7am (most arent even up yet)
2. wife hates it

The slp's aren't that loud, but your neighbor's will definently not be happy campers in the morning.

 

My neighbors pretend that it doesn't bother them, but the fact that the first time I met them they said "Oh, you're the guy with the black Mustang" tells me different.

Wife? Yeah, get used to little comments like "Good Lord your car is loud". Those aren't bad though, it's the "would you stop driving like that, you're hurting my neck!" that tell you that your car is something she doesn't exactly approve of. Oh well, for better or worse baby, you're stuck with me!

 

Hopefully it has the same affect that adding an offroad H did to my Corsa's.........

The wife says it sounds great (and actually I do believe her) but she doesn't want to ride with me as much; which means more fun for me! (read: donuts, burnouts, excessive accelerations, etc!)

Tell me about it.My f'iance doesn't really mind the sound but I always get infamous "would you stop driving like that" shpill. Or the uhh's or the geezes. Other than that everything is all good

Did you guys have to take off the midpipe like in the service manual says?

I took a couple bracket bolts out, cant get the one out and removed one clamp on the drivers side... and it wont come out.

it's dark the minute i get home so i ahve to wait till tomorrow to work on it....

it sucks because it just looks like it turned into a couple hours work instead of an hour... like they say.

 

I'm not sure what you mean....... what does the manual say? What bolt/clamp can't you get out? PM me if you want.

You don't have to mess with the midpipe if you can get the bolts out that are holding the hangers inplace.

Man you guys are killing me...I thought the stingers were good at first now I think I have to go with an O/R pipe. On second thought Im just going to save up for Mac L/Ts with a hiflo catted mid pipe

 

Install was done after I realized last night that i was turning a bolt the wrong way.... stupid me.

I don't think i've ever heard anything that loud before.. it was like a herd of harley riders behind me on the onramp.

You never heard my '03 Cobra with Stingers..... compared to my '05 GT, well, let's just say there is NO comparison. I wish there was a way to replicate the sound but alas, these 3-valve engines just don't have the output with comparable mods.....

 

I agree with Willie...I heard a Shelby GT500 at SEMA with an O/R X and Stingers and it was crazyyy loud, but in a good way!

I think with a set of long tube headers and matching o/r mid pipe with stinger axleback and a nice BBR cam you will have a similar setup in volume but not in tone and overall sound.
